Traditional Floorshine

Traditional Floorshine

Floorshine is a moisture cured Urethane prepolymer designed for internal use. Floorshine dries to a clear gloss finish and is suitable for use on timber, cork tiles or smooth concrete floors. It is also suitable for bench tops and tables.

INTERNAL SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces to be coated must be free from dust, dirt, grease, wax and be thoroughly dry. New timber must be sanded smooth and all dust removed. Smooth concrete should be etched with (1:15) Muriatic Acid solution which must be thoroughly rinsed off after application. “Old” surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned; all traces of wax must be removed with a suitable de-waxing agent or by sanding. After preparation surfaces must be thoroughly dry before application is attempted.

APPLICATION: This product is not suitable for spray application – use only brush, roller or lambswool applicator. Avoid ponding.

TIMBER SURFACES: New Unfinished: After preparation, apply two coats of Floorshine, allowing 6 to 8 hours between coats. If a third coat is required, it should be applied within 24 hours. If timber is required to be stained, allow at least 48 hours after staining before coating with Floorshine.

Previously Varnished: Prepare as directed under surface preparation and apply one or more coats to achieve the desired result (allow over night drying between coats).

CORK TILE SURFACES: New; ensure the surface is clean and then seal with a coat of Floorshine, which has been diluted with approx. 20% Brinlay thinners. Allow to dry and apply further coats of Floorshine at full strength, allowing 6 to 8 hours between coats.

THINNING & CLEANING UP: Floorshine should only be thinned as instructed. For thinning and clean up, use only Brinlay thinners. Between coats, store utensils in a pot of clean thinners. On completion of job DO NOT return and used product to the can, as this will cause remaining product to harden.”

COVERAGE: Floorshine will cover about 14 square metres per litre per coat.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS: Keep container firmly closed, do not work from the can. Use only in a well ventilated area and avoid breathing fumes. Do not smoke when using this product, and keep away from sparks and naked flames. If swallowed, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. DO NOT induce vomiting. If in contact with eyes, hold eye open and flood with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice.
