Drying Times

Touch Dry Time - 30 minutes.
Recoat Dry Time -2 hours.
Drying times refer to normal conditions (25°C, 50% humidity). Under cooler, humid or still conditions, longer drying times may be necessary.
DO NOT USE IN TEMPERATURES BELOW 10°C OR ABOVE 30°C.

General Preparation

Stir thoroughly before, during and after application using a broad flat stirrer. New concrete must be aged for at least 4 weeks prior to painting. Remove all oil stains using a degreaser. Surfaces must be free from dirt, mould/algae or grease.

Rough Porous Concrete: Remove dust and loose material by using a stiff bristled broom. Rinse with a high pressure water wash. Allow concrete to dry for 2 days. Apply 2 generous coats thinning the first coat with 200ml per litre of clean water.

Smooth Concrete: Etch the surface with a 5% Hydrochloric Acid solution applying according to label directions. Avoid skin and eye contact. Scrub area with a stiff broom. Rinse with a high pressure water wash. Allow concrete to dry for 2 days. Sweep away all etching debris. Test for loose residues with adhesive tape. Repeat cleaning as required until all loose surface material has been removed. For car traffic concrete must be as rough as 120 grit sandpaper. Apply 2 generous coats thinning the first coat with 200ml per litre of clean water.

Stone or Brick: Wash with a high pressure water wash. Allow to dry. Apply 2 generous thinning the first coat with 200ml per litre of clean water.

Previously Painted Surfaces:

Remove all loose and flaking paint. Ensure the Surface is sound by cutting a small cross through the paint to the substrate underneath and using adhesive tape pressed firmly over the cross, then pull the tape off fast, If the old paint comes off it is unsound and must be removed. Sand gloss and semi gloss surfaces and dust down. Wash down using Sugar Soap and rinse with water. Allow to dry. Prepare bare areas to suit the substrate. Apply 2 generous coats. Before repainting, create a test area to ensure compatibility with the old coating. After 24 hours of drying, check for lifting of old paint or poor adhesion. If problems are observed total removal of the old paint is required.

Thinning and Cleaning Up

May be thinned with up to 200ml of water per litre for first coat on porous surfaces. Apply subsequent coat/coats unthinned. Clean equipment with water immediately after use.

Painting Conditions

Avoid painting if rain is expected within 24 hours. Do not apply if the temperature is below 10°C or above 30°C. While in hot weather, avoid painting in direct sunlight. Very warm or porous surfaces may be dampened with clean water prior to application. Avoid applying externally in late afternoon in winter or in doubtful weather as frost, dew or rain is likely to impair gloss or durability of the coating.

Care & Maintenance

The surfaces can be walked on with bare feet or soft shoes in 2 hours. Protect the coating against abrasive contact for 7 days. After 7 days the finish can be cleaned with a mild detergent solution and a broom. Protect from car hot tyre traffic for 30 days. 14 days for all other traffic. Take care walking on wet surfaces, for slopes we recommend the addition a Non Slip Additive.
