Brinlay Aluminium Silver Roofing Enamel

A brilliant silver enamel with exceptional durability and performance when used on metal surfaces such as roofing, beams, sheds, caravan structural steel or roof areas. Also suitable for timber, provided the correct priming paints are initially applied. Due to its high reflectancy properties, it assists in reducing heat absorption and keeping temperatures inside a structure reduced.
Due to the leafing properties of aluminium powder in the product, it is ideal for arresting difficult stains like those from bitumen, water stains and chemical stains that are likely to effect the finishing coatings.

All interior and exterior surfaces: Roofing, beams, sheds, structural steel, doors, architraves, trims, down pipes, gutters, hand rails etc.

Colour: Silver
Application: Brush, roller or spray. Provide adequate ventilation. Temperature should be above 10ºC. Early exposure to steam, overnight dew, rain or hosing may result in damage or removal of the coating.
Coverage: Approx. 14 – 16 sq. metres per litre.
Thinning: Mineral turpentine sparingly.
Drying: Touch dry in 2 – 3 hours. Recoat 24 hours on a day of 25ºC and 50% relative humidity, but will be longer in adverse conditions.
Clean Up: Mineral turpentine

Previously painted surfaces: Sand and scrape all unsound and flaking surfaces. Remove any grease, oil or rust deposits. Fill imperfections with appropriate fill. Sand smooth, sand all gloss and semi gloss surfaces to give key. Bare to be primed with appropriate Brinlay Wood Primer.
Undercoat with Brinlay Oil Undercoat or Brinlay 100% Acrylic Primer Sealer Undercoat. Finish with 1 – 2 coats of Brinlay Aluminium Silver Roofing Enamel.
New Interior Timber: Fill imperfections and sand smooth. Apply one coat of Brinlay Oil Undercoat.
Finish with 1 – 2 coats of Brinlay Aluminium Silver Roofing Enamel.
New Exterior Timber: As above. When using oil based undercoat, a coat of pink or white primer may be used before undercoating. Finish with 2 coats of Brinlay Aluminium Silver Roofing Enamel.
New Metal Surfaces: Clean and remove all rust, grease and oil deposits. Apply one coat Brinlay Zinc Phosphate or Galvanised Acrylic Primer for galvanised surfaces. Finish with 2 coats Brinlay Aluminium Silver Roofing Enamel.
Plasterboard: Apply one coat Brinlay Oil Undercoat or one coat Brinlay 100% Acrylic Primer Sealer Undercoat. Finish with 1 – 2 coats Brinlay Aluminium Silver Roofing Enamel.
